Debate Class

Day #1
  1. Please read the following story as a class.  You may choose to read it out loud or have students take turns.
  2. Please have them write down their thoughts INDIVIDUALLY for five (5) minutes.
  3. When the 5 minutes is up, divide them into groups of three (3). Please have them share their ideas on the situation and find the possible outcome for this case with reasons why. Allow about 10-15 minutes for this.
  4. Next, please bring them together as a whole class.  You may want to put them into a circle. Have them write up one (1) verdict for this case.  This will be presented to me for argument.
