Hey There Shepherd!
Once again getting back on track with ‘Getting To Know Shepherd People” Here is the 3rd installment and the 1st of the New Year 2014. If you missed the first, you can go to:

to get caught up. Getting to know people, communicating with them, and finding out what they are about is a crucial key to successful teamwork, a successful school. I am going to continue do my best to post something about the special people involved at Shepherd Public schools the first Sunday of each month.
Today I want to present you with another unsung hero who tends to go unnoticed…
His name is Mr. Dan Pudell, and he is a kindergarten teacher at Winn Elementary for the past four years.
Dan earned his B.A.A. from Central Michigan University. He started teaching at St. Louis Public Schools but was laid off (THEIR loss and OUR Gain!) So he has been teaching for a total of eight years, all kindergarten.
Along with his daily duties of instructing the ‘littlest BlueJays’, Dan also is the TRIG Grant Building Coach and a member of the Science Curriculum Committee.
Mr. Pudell feels the best part about being at Shepherd is, “the staff is outstanding and the community and administration is supportive and outgoing. I feel like I am a part of one giant family. I also appreciate all of the technology we get to play with and to use in support of our teaching styles.”
Mr Pudell is married to his wife, Mary. They have been married for nine years and are going strong! His mother and father are both retired and enjoying life in Baldwin, Michigan. Dan also has a sister who is a Chemistry and Physics teacher over in Michigan’s Thumb.
The Pudells are also dedicated dog lovers and have two Blue Doberman Pinschers, Argos & Iris, and a couple of cats.
When Dan is not teaching he can be found playing Disc Golf, playing pinball, game building, constructing rockets, hiking & traveling with Mary, along with rollerblading and skiing with the dogs.
One thing many do not know about Dan is he is a great juggler!
When asked who inspires him he did not hesitate to answer, "my wife, Mary."
Dan said, “She is my wife and best friend. She makes me not only a better teacher but also a better person by far. Her support of my career and her ability to help me stay organized allows me to do what I do in the classroom. Mary is someone I can bounce ideas off of and get many different angles to any possible situation. We make a great team!”
One major task at hand is Dan has to deal with my son, Jayson aka. "The Goob" on a daily basis this year. Mr. P has the patience of a saint! All we hear around the house from The Goob is, "Mr. Pudell says…!" Just have to love the impact Dan is making on the little ones.
Dan Pudell is another person here at Shepherd for the right reasons… he loves helping the students be the best they can be… he loves doing it… and he is excellant at it!
Thank you Dan for all the hard work and dedication you bring to your profession.
